I qualified with a BSc Hons degree in Speech and Language Therapy from City University in 2007. I have since gained extensive experience in working with adults with neurological difficulties and consider this my specialism. I also have experience working with children ages 4-17 years. I currently work as highly specialist clinician in a stroke service, alongside seeing a wide range of private patients.
My specific interest is in aquired communication disorders, in particular aphasia. I have also specialist skills in diagnosing, testing and treating swallowing disorders following neurological injury and as a result of head and neck cancer. I am highly trained in instrumental swallowing assessment including videofluoroscopy and FEES (Fireoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of the Swallow). I like to liaise with relevant professionals and work closely with patients and their families/ friends. I have excellent recommendations and references which are available on request.
I am originally from West Cork in Ireland, and I came to London in 2003 to pursue my dream of becoming a Speech Therapist and live the London life. I have since married and I 2 children who keep me very busy. In my spare time, I enjoy sailing, skiing, diving and travel.
